Christmas Time Is Here
24 December 2010
MasterCard reported "During the period October 31 to December 24, U.S. consumers spent an estimated $36.4 billion, a 15.4% year-on-year increase over the 2009 holiday season" for eCommerce sales. What portion of this increase can be attributed to small businesses operating online was not reported. However in aggregate, this is excellent news for online sellers.
Not that there wasn't money to be made by small businesses selling one of a kind items on eBay. Like many previous eBay monetary Christmas shopping seasons, something unique turned up for sale on the site. The $79.90 Steve Jobs action figure made many sellers happy with it's eventual top price of $2,500. Before Apple told eBay, 'No.'
While there is a practical aspect to conducting transactions for money, we would hope that the MBA greed need subsides tomorrow.
Taking a quiet respite with family and friends.
Enjoying the feeling of harmony in the air.
