HELP!! What happened to ebay?? I can't find anything
http://forums.ebay.com/db2/thread.jspa?threadID=2000373539&tstart=0&mod=1181174418685
Man ebay did a drastic change to the site. I can't seem to find any of the catagories I use to look at. The way they have it set up now makes it very difficult to find anything. When I am in any catagory the catagory listings on the left are gone PLUS the View Completed actions option box is gone!
Is anyone else having this problem? Is there a way to go back to the old style of viewing things?

matrix, where have you been? everything got changed in april. they have totally changed the whole site. that is why many ppl left or are leaving . trust me, nobody likes it. you can look for customise buttons and see if you can do anything there, but pretty much the old ebay is gone, sorry.

OMG I just figured it out!! Look what I found at the bottom of the page in small type
"You are currently testing eBay's new search experience. If you prefer, you can opt out of the test." I OPTED OUT REALLY FAST!!
THAT WAS THE WORST SEARCH EXPERIENCE EVER!! DAMN If Ebay goes to that crap we'er screwed.

oh! ok, you were on beta! i thought beta ended in march...
there were about 6 different betas. one was great. it let you add to watch list w/o having to open the listing so you could save time and look later. of COURSE they did not keep that nice one
i stopped buying early april. i stopped searching mid april. i'm only on ebay to run a group and try to be moral support for ppl. and help with piddly stuff if i know it. otherwise i'd be gone. between bad sellers, pp delays and horror stories on the board a person would have to be crazy to give this monopoly any more money... geesh. not a fun year.

Well as a seller if people can't search I can't sell. I can tell you that something has happened in the last couple weeks. My sales have droped at least 75% in last couple weeks. If ebay doesn't get it togther soon I am going to stop listing.

The view completed items IS NOT gone. Maybe you need glasses or just do not know what your doing! Check again, its there, never went anywhere! I use it all the time to buy and to check to see what sells or not before I decide whether or not to list an item.

It is true that the new search makes it hard to find items that you want. This is just my observation !!!

- we're under a triple-witching hour right now. We have the normal summer slowdown + ebay "enhancing" (this also encompasses "star mania") + USPS rate increases = (the Ebay equivalent of) "The Perfect Storm".
Guess what? I got a fever and the only prescription is. . . MORE cowbell!

"my sales have increased this month. i have no idea why unless it's because i sell tropical beachy type stuff."
The people selling sleds and snowblowers probably aren't doing much right about now.

Beachy - Yeah, based on last year's sales (first year of total T-shirts) this is now my "up season". However, when I was handling a more traditional mix of merchandise, the summer was always down. Also, in my area of collectibles (tikis) the summer is always a down season.

as far as the NEW search is concerned -
go to the search board. lost/hard to find "ended items" search in the
beta/test version is mentioned there.

My overall sales dropped significantly in April and are still not "up-to-par"...... I am a full-time seller (Power...whatever that means Right now I don't feel any power whatsoever.
My quarterly taxes are due next week and I'm going to have to pull half of it out of a CD that I toiled for many years to create. This is a first for me. It is not a good time, to say the least.
Years ago when I started, it was SO LUSH....good sales, perfect transactions. High-End Items really got the attention that they deserved.....now most days I feel like I'm working at a flea market. The only difference being that I'm not outdoors, basking in the sunshine and meeting a really neat array of people.....what a shame.
I have other plans in the works right now to turn this whole situation around, but don't really feel confident pasting them on some forum. (It's quite UN-RELATED, if you get the drift)
But the point of the matter is....Sales just aren't nearly as good as they used to be. Not even close.
And the scary thing about it is that I made SO many improvements to my listings and general appearance long before this drop in sales even happened (acquiring services outside of eBay...my site is gushvintage.com if you wish to see for yourself). I am quite professional, my items are Top Notch, I have great Feedback........what the hell am I doing wrong?

Before the big upgrade I can't think of anything
that didn't work. They must have hired some young
punks just out of diapers, who want to show how
dumb the old guys were by upgrading everthing.
Give them a diaper change and send them packing.
cheers
an old guy
