Effective Jan. 30th, 2009, the Blackthorne product will be transitioned to the San Jose based Seller Tools team. eBay remains committed to the Blackthorne product and will continue to support it with the same dedication you have come to expect from the Blackthorne team in Pennsylvania.

As of Jan. 30th, the 7 members of the Blackthorne team will no longer be eBay employees. We will not be moving to San Jose. Over the coming weeks we are transitioning the program to the new developers. We will be introducing them to you on the board as they begin to take over the programming and board responsibilities.

Hi all,
I know that this may be upsetting at first, but I would like to encourage you to take a deep breath and give it some time before rushing to any conclusions.
Blackthorne is a stable program, and is not going away. It is just going to be handled by a different group of talented programmers. We are touched by your respect for our accomplishments, and now I will ask that you give the incoming team the same assistance and support you have given us over the years.
If you just take it one step at a time, I think you will find that everything is going to be alright.

There is some confusion and discussion on eBay's Blackthorne Pro board about whether this was an eBay business decision or a decision by the Blackthorne team. I realized it wasn't clear in my earlier posts, so I wanted to clear up the confusion by letting you know this was an eBay business decision.
